* Update 2021: This year, our event will be a virtual penpal event pairing graduate students, professors, and faculty from UF with local middle school students interested in learning about STEM research.
To apply to be a penpal, please email Amanda at: [email protected].
WiSE is hosting its sixth annual spring break camp for students in grades 6 and 7. During the week-long camp, participants will have the opportunity to learn about current research and science at UF, participate in hands-on experiments lead by experts, and meet and work with women with a passion for exploring and understanding the world around us!
This camp will include five days filled with fun activities: collecting fossils and invertebrates, building an electromagnet, making liquid nitrogen ice cream, learning how to code, and meeting UF scientists. The experience will demystify the prospects of a scientific career and expose students to a range of scientific disciplines that they might not have considered or be aware of.
Please feel free to spread the word! Here is the WiSE Spring Science Camp webpage.
Eligibility: 6th and 7th grade students
Dates: Monday, March 23rd, 2020 – Friday, March 27th, 2020. From 9:00am – 4:00pm (before and care provided from 8-9am and 4-5pm)
